Date for first meeting

Well the polls closed this morning with Sunday afternoon and Wednesday evening tied.  I went ahead and reserved the Shiras Room at Peter White Public Library for 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 1.  If at a later date we decide we want to give Sundays a try, we can do that.  I'll be sending out PSA's to the media in the next couple of days.  Thank you to everyone who took part in the poll.

Do let me know if you have anything for the agenda!

  1. Thank Goodness!! I am really looking forward to connecting with other parents and hopefully being a part of a community with other children Joseph can build friendships with! (Work on social skills in a safe (understanding, accepting) environment)!!

  3. Thoughts on the agenda, I am hoping to learn more about the P.L.A.Y. Project and wondering about becoming a chapter of the Autism Society of America, thinking it would be beneficial to plug into an existing organization with established resources...

  4. I've been doing a little research into PLAY and becoming a chapter of ASA. Can't say I've turned over every stone, but have been a bit discouraged in what I've learned so far. I do know the library is getting the DVD that they advertise on the PLAY website. Will contact the PLAY regrading public performance rights to see if we can do a screening of it. We can can discuss this further when we meet.

  5. I would like to talk a little about the 'Brain Balance' program on Wednesday, a program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. After attending the program in Georgia, I have so much information that I can offer parents. Let me know, but I will be there no matter what! I'm excited as well!!!

  6. I'm hoping that for our first meeting we'll all get a few minutes to introduce ourselves and share briefly some highlights of our experieince. I've already told one person who will be here from out of town that she can present her program briefly at the first meeting. If anyone would like to talk at length on a particular topic, the first meeting might be a good time to introduce it to the group so we can schedule a time in the future for a more in-depth talk.
